About the Author

The author is a writer, speaker, and activist. Her writings have been published in many newspapers, online magazines and blog sites in the Middle East, South Asia and some in America, among these are:  The Huffington Post, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Paul Dispatch, Dallas Morning News, etc.. Besides, her articles also got published in India Abroad, The Statesman (India), Gulf Daily News, Islamic Horizons, The American Muslim, The Muslim Observer, Al-Ahram (Egypt), and Daily News Egypt, The Jordan Times, The New Nation, The Daily Star, The Independent (Bangladesh), NY Daily News (India), The Noia Diganta, etc. among others.

She focuses on three main areas:

1) She writes about de-radicalization, conflict resolution, national integration, power-sharing and democratic governance in Muslim-majority societies to promote good governance.


2) She also promotes constructive engagements and good relations between the West and the Muslim world.


3) She advocates a total reform in the Muslim world. She vehemently denounces radicalism and terrorism, and opposes dogmatism and fanaticism, and promotes liberal, democratic and universal values in Islam in the Muslim world. Currently, she is the Executive Director of two organizations: Muslims for Peace, Justice, and Progress (www.MPJP.org),  and  Women for Good Governance (WGG), in the process of incorporation.


She is a human rights activist. She also promotes good governance.

Her intensive study of the Quran for the last 20 years has enabled her to produce the site: www.consultquran.com in which she lays down the core universal principles of the scripture, the core of the Book, that promotes peaceful coexistence, tolerance,  finding commonality in the diversity of humanity, compassion, and justice.
